I have worked in education for nine years and counting, in the brick-and-mortar classroom, in the virtual classroom, at the school support level, and at the district support level. I am currently an educational technology specialist with my school district in Utah and an online English teacher.
Upgrading Instruction was inspired by all of the “aha!” moments I’ve shared with teachers as they’ve discovered ways to make their jobs easier or their students’ learning deeper with educational technology. By combining what I know about the latest innovations within the field of “ed tech” and my love of writing, I’m hoping to bring those same “aha!” moments to teachers all across the country.
My hopes are that Upgrading Instruction can become a community where educators come to learn from and share with others so that we can all benefit from the opportunities made possible by digitizing parts of our instruction. If something isn’t working for your sanity, your work-life-balance, or the engagement and success of your students, then it’s time to upgrade!
